Phoslock Environmental Technologies (PET) 于 2018 年初发起了对运河的水体修复。实施时,运河已被绿色富营养化水堵塞。污染严重,运河里没有鱼,水还散发着恶臭(图1)。仅仅6个月后,运河水已清澈,营养物质得到控制,水生生物繁衍生息(图2)。当地的渔民也已经回来了。
北京南部第二个湿地项目已经启动。该项目涉及通过铁路运输 60,000 多吨材料和 2,000 多辆卡车运输到现场。与第一个湿地项目一样,这是一项巨大的后勤和项目管理工作。
这个新的湿地项目价值约为 $7m,预计将于 2018 年 11 月完工。北京运河的工程仍在继续,结合使用 Phoslock、沸石和细菌剂来改善和维持水质。
